The kitty kids are learning how to behave in a house that has things they would otherwise destroy, though they spend most of their time in the finished basement. These 3 came up together earlier, explored for a while, and then curled up in the chair together for a nap ❤️

My cat Edgar found a plastic ball under a piece of furniture (house came pre-furnished from a mom with a young baby) and he is now smacking it around the dining room and meowing at it lol.

For work today it took me like 3 hours each to figure out the end of month reconciliation stuff for 2 of the locations I'm in charge of and then the third location took like 30 minutes. It was so easy it almost made me mad. Why can't all the locations be this way??

I wasted a good hour or so of my workday trying to fix an accounting problem that turns out, wasn't actually a problem, I just copied data down incorrectly. I'm ready to walk out into the snow and set myself alight. Who allowed me to work a math related job?? Who??

I slept for a total of about an hour and a half before I woke up because my throat was sore and dry and my nose was stuffy and draining super bad. I finally gave up falling back asleep and grabbed my pillow and blanket and went to the couch. I don't have cold meds so Benadryl and lozenges instead!

I did a fun thing where I grew out the scruffiest little bit of chin hair over like, a 5 or so day period of time, and then I discovered last night as I shaved it off why men use electric shavers to get rid of longer hairs before clean shaving. It was ouchy.

I just love living in the United States (especially the south) and playing "gunshots or fireworks or something else?" I guess technically St Louis is both the midwest and the south. Anyway, those were definitely gunshots, and lots of them. Cool cool cool.

thing about autism is if you work really hard for many years, you can learn through trial-and-error how to navigate social situations and interpersonal connections SO effectively that people don't really believe you're autistic anymore and resent you for not being perfect at nonverbal communication

I moved to St Louis today! And by that I mean 3 other wonderful people came down to Louisiana and helped me load the uhaul and then 2 more joined the unloading group in St Louis and we got a full uhaul unloaded in about an hour! Now my new place is stacked full of boxes and bags and I am TIRED.

I've lived in Monroe for 2.5 years and I am just now going to check out this brunch place that I've wanted to go to for a while now. They've always been way too busy on the weekends, like lines out the doors busy, but it's a weekday so I got a table! I am way underdressed haha.

Only 2 more days til I drive to St Louis to pick up my partner and friends to come help me move. Which means only 2 more days until I can see my love in person instead of only getting to see them in photos with the occasional short in-person visits that never last long enough. I am so ready ❤️❤️❤️

Tomorrow is the 1 year anniversary of my stepdad's passing. It crept up on me, I didn't even realize the date until just now. Tommy was the closest I ever had to a real father since my bio dad was such a horrible person. I wish Tommy were still here, but I do take solace in knowing he's with my mom.

Got the second room of my house basically knocked out and ready to go other than a few last minute things I'll worry about next weekend. All that's really left is the kitchen, bathroom, and my own room, all of which won't take long to pack as they don't contain a lot of stuff.

Today was not the productive day of packing and cleaning I planned for it to be but I did that for 3 days this past week so I feel like I deserve a break. I did do SOME cleaning today, just not a lot. I have a deadline to hit still, after all.

Cleaning and packing today took longer than I expected, partially because my back was already hurting from work and bending over made it worse and also partially because there was more to go through than I thought, but the front bedroom is now about 90% done! Yay!
