a gargantuan economic development that healthier societies would be well positioned to exploit politically. but we have xenophobia and hyper policing as our de facto climate policy instead of managed fossil fuel phase out. this is not an accident
Solar energy has consistently been underestimated.

Today, it adds more capacity/yr to global grid than any other source in history.

If trend continues, solar will deliver more electricity generation/yr than any technology before it.

One frustrating thing about the way Mandela has been memorialised is that people immortalise him as a benign grandpa who wanted everyone to hold hands instead of the absolute fucking revolutionary that he was. Mandela sacrificed more in a single lifetime than most of the world put together.
On this day in 1990, Nelson Mandela was released from prison after 27 years. First incarcerated in 1963, Madiba spent the next two decades imprisoned on Robben Island.

We need to record truth. Seek more truth. Speak truth. Share truth.
The subscription economy and knowledge and data being in certain hands means others control archives and thus narratives.

A major contributor to climate change in the past year is the daily bombs dropping on innocent civilians. We share a planet; we are all connected, no one is protected!
If you've noted the massive failure to mention climate change in mainstream coverage about the LA fires, here is a piece that specifically discusses how climate change has exacerbated wildfires in California in the last decade. The current fires will likely go down as among the most destructive.
15 of the Most Destructive 20 Wildfires in California Have Occurred in the Past Decade
The effects of the climate crisis appear to be making California wildfires more destructive.
