My quote of the day

You build on failure. You use it as a stepping stone. Close the door on the past. You don't try to forget the mistakes, but you don't dwell on it. You don't let it have any of your energy, or any of your time, or any of your space.

the Terasaki family for supporting core operations and infrastructure for MBL’s education and research programs. This is an inspiring investment for the youngest 👏🏽

My quote of the day

(Three parts from Elias Zerhouni on being a leader)

First you have to have a big heart. Because if you don't have a big heart you will never be able to lead....You have to have a passion. You have to believe in some things that are your core values.

This it is really shocking but I am not surprised as I heard it from some users before 🤦🏽‍♀️ www.nature.com/articles/d41...

Turns out, two of pain’s most famous messengers — Substance P and CGRPα — might not be so essential after all. Mice missing both still felt pain just fine, challenging decades of assumptions about how pain signals travel.

It appears that termination of SROs from institute review branches at NIH is underway (or worse).

There are also program officers and SROs who have been terminated over the past month.

@jeremymberg.bsky.social is a national hero. Too many of my tenured colleagues are hiding in their offices, hoping the storm will pass over them if they keep their head down. I'm immensely grateful that Dr. Berg has the opposite response to this moment.
I am not going to call this a Bluetorial, because I do not want to sully that term (which, at least I, find joyful).

Let’s call it a Orwellial.

Very 🐡 statistics! I’m not sure how rates are dipping given everything that has been happening over the past few years and what’s currently going on. The influx doesn’t compensate well with workers flushed——-U.S. added 143,000 jobs in January, unemployment rate dips to 4%
