Candidly, as a civ-mil watcher, this scene at Bragg is freaking me out more than anything else that's happened so far. Just an absolute collapse of professional military norms.

I am sincerely moved by Sen. Van Hollen. Sometimes Members of Congress do stuff that is brave. I didn’t say this while he was there, but it kind of reminded me of Rep. Leo Ryan in 1978.

1/4. On the White House’s theory, if they abduct you, get you on a helicopter, get to international waters, shoot you in the head, and drop your corpse into the ocean, that is legal, because it is the conduct of foreign affairs.

This how health insurers screw everyone for profit. Republicans will cut off sick people before they even lift a finger to investigate the real fraud in our healthcare system.

This all points to confidence in US treasury bonds rapidly degrading, and the consequences of that go well beyond a simple recession. The US bond market imploding would make 2008 look like child's play.
For the layman, US treasury bonds have long been the safest of safe investments, meaning when the market tanks, people start buying bonds. In these cases, the 10-year yield goes down because bonds are being bought vs sold.

If the yield goes up as the markets goes down, that is bad. Very bad.

This is Senator Jim Banks from Indiana. No need to tell you he’s a Republican—it’s clear by the cruel disdain he shows his own constituent who was laid off.

Note: he waits until the door’s about to close before telling him he deserved it & calling him a “clown.”

He’s not just cruel—he’s a coward.

She doesn't mention cloture specifically. But I think it's clear what Pelosi is saying here. And I think her saying it is a pretty big deal.

So disappointed in the tour but not surprised by Monahan’s terrible leadership. Helping this weak, already conflicted executive further his conflicts of interest.
Imagine any prior moment in the history of the U.S. where a president whose family is in business with LIV GOLF via hosting tournaments four years in a row would convene a White House meeting involving LIV Golf and its potential merger partner PGA. This is a conflict of interest. Plain and simple.

DOGE operative Marko Elez got the ability to alter US Treasury payment system code on Feb 1, WIRED's sources say.

For days, Trump officials fed members of Congress and the press a different story.

Elez is out now for posts reading "I was racist before it was cool" and "normalize Indian hate."

Sources tell WIRED that the ability of DOGE's Marko Elez to alter code controlling trillions in federal spending was rescinded days after US Treasury and White House officials said it didn't exist.

There appear to be at least three separately operating heel factions breaking things within the government in wholly different ways right now. There's the Miller-headed immigration one, the DOGE/Elon one, and a Project 2025 OMB one. This dynamic hasn't showed up in mainstream reporting at all.
