Obviously the answer to this question is no, but more importantly, I will not take a question like this seriously until it is demonstrated to me that the makers of LLM technology, and their boosters in business and the media, have even the slightest concern for the suffering of actual human beings.

It's useful to imagine people talking about LLMs as if they were talking about any other new technology for example air fryers. 'Air fryer adoption is inevitable'. What, you'd say, no it isn't‽ I don't have to get an air fryer.
And I think this is bad nonsense? Bad nonsense designed to make nice librarians feel like they should do something to be helpful when actually critical engagement and resistance is the most useful thing they could do.
