Some people in recent days have alleged a ‘cover-up’ over the grooming & rape of hundreds of young girls in predominantly northern UK towns, leading to calls for a ‘national’ public inquiry into child sexual exploitation

FWIW here’s a non-exhaustive list of inquiries into #CSE in last 12 yrs…

Suppose this was foreseeable but it’s a massive loss of council housing stock in a short time. I do hope they won’t all end up in the hands of unscrupulous absentee landlords.

Seeing a lot of men saying “they’re not men” re. Pelicot and the other rapists. Oh, they are. In fact you probably know a guy like this, they walk amongst us, they just don’t identify themselves. All men will continue to benefit from all women’s fear until they do something to help to end this.

On 19 November, the Times ran a ‘news’ piece on the demonstration in Westminster by farmers opposed to changes to inheritance tax. Obviously reporting the news is good, but reading such a one sided piece made me think it belonged in the comment pages www.thetimes.com/uk/environme...
Tractors, fleeces and fury: protesting farmers bring their grievances to town
At least 13,000 protesters descend on Whitehall accusing the government of ‘betrayal’ in its plans to impose inheritance tax on farms

Oh god. The inevitable Daily Mail tantrum at a Labour govt edging towards a slightly less ruinous relationship with our own continent.
What do these idiotic nationalists want? Permanent hostility? Endless cost and loss?
‘Betraying’ Brexit is an act of patriotic necessity now, you howling clowns.

Reading about women being denied a D&C to complete a miscarriage in US is horrific. Suppose there will have to be a malpractice case against an obstetrician. Not to mention the harm to women caused by the appalling abortion ban.

Would be nice if “more vocal about immigration” meant explaining why it is essential to the U.K. economy and public services - and why free movement would strengthen Britain’s alliances

But I guess that’s not what they mean

How depressing that Labour MPs think the answer is being ‘more vocal about immigration’. They could try advocating for investment in the regions to deliver prosperous, sustainable communities. Playing to the immigration trope is dangerous, defeatist and does nothing to actually restore hope.

Tax planning will help hugely, 7 years of reducing liability.
