I have no doubt that most of the rats who flee the Coalition in this term will be fleeing because they think it isn't culture-warry enough and these people will infest and overwhelm any alternative that looks like getting traction.

Because too much liability? Doesn't seem to trouble the existing operators. Anyway, as public utilities they could be granted a degree of legislated immunity, if that is really necessary.

Because too complex to implement? Nonsense. There is existing, mature open-source software available.

We know FOI is broken: late responses, heavy redactions, missing documents. Labor's bill fixes none of this and would make many aspects worse.

Time to abandon this hubris-driven attack on transparency and start again. This is the Greens recommendation in our dissenting report
