American living in MTL. Reads too much and misses the authors he followed on the other place. Thinks too much. Uh..software dev. Owns a cat. Has a son i miss but am proud of.

I have the survival instincts of an emo lemming.

I agree with the sentiment, but…well, okay, you aren’t wrong, but you aren’t right.

Remember when the dipshit of McDonalds wrote an oped in the WSJ saying if wages went up they’d just replace people with badly designed kiosks and then lost tons of money? Take their money away

Someone followed the order to STRAF THE SURVIVERS. If the JAG doesn’t have that clown in handcuffs today we gotta have words.

And when I was a kid, I learned the best way to find out how tough you really are is not to give your opponent a way out - if you’re going to die one way or the other, fight like the 3rd chimp getting on the Ark.

Hegseth is not very smart, and he’s going to get a lot of killed.

77,000,000 Americans are assholes. Every political calculation has to take that into account.

They straffed the survivors. There aren’t words for how evil this is.

No. Such. Thing.

I *am* a testosterone-driven, undereducated male. I don’t understand how getting worked up about her hijab (seriously, it was an amazing blue) would have increased the value of my stock options, written one more line of code. I guess I’m just stupid.

While I’d be good with that as well, there’s something about hearing “bend over and cough” that really brings one’s life choices into focus

Dig into the long list ones; enjoy for a couple hours, maybe make dinner. Curl up with the werewolf porn in bed and say “I only REALLY need 4 hours of sleep. I can read another chapter”

Huh. I assumed it meant “bailiff, please escort counsel to the jail.”

Anything else is a suggestion

You know, thermite is surprisingly easy to make.

Santos is already out of prison?

It can’t be. The US has no idea how badly it fucked up. I know you think you do. It’s way worse than that. And a new president won’t purge you of the 77,000,000 who voted for him.

Uh. He’s in danger of “a short drop and a sudden stop and the last knot a sailor will deal with”. This can’t be true. This is the first chapter of dystopian sf. The one that gets you cheering for the protagonist.

Hydrogen sucks, though. Major pain to work with.

He’s Canadian, eh?

Depends on the books, how much time you spend thinking about them, other obligations, how you feel about things like sleep and bathing, but sure, it’s doable.

My inability to understand this level of stupid hate actively prevents me from understanding Trump or his supporters. It’s amazingly frustrating. Everything I’ve ever read or experienced has examples of him, but always with “don’t be that guy”. “Why is he like this?” “Who cares. Just don’t be him”
November 29, 2025 at 3:07 PM
This is a level of racism I can’t even wrap my mind around. I had a coworker who came to work every day “swaddled in her hijab”, and when I saw her I always thought “wow. That’s a really pretty blue. Where do you get that fabric”. What was she going to do; not eat pork at me?

The thought process makes sense, but now you don’t have graham crackers.
