You know that joke about the old guy on the train who keeps going “Oy, I’m so hungry!” until someone gives him a sandwich, and then he starts going “Oy, was I hungry”? That’s kind of how I feel with getting Hazel back. I feel so much better and yet I can’t stop talking about how awful it was.

Tried again and got through. Not sure why it didn't work the first time but I'll take it.

Left a voicemail for Padilla. Tried every number on Schiff's site and got a "mailbox full" message each time, so I'm going to email instead.

After I watched the first episode all I could think was "Man, Vince really wants to get Rhea that Emmy she never got for Kim Wexler."

The second we had her in the car, my husband and I fully broke down. So glad things worked out for you as well.

What a beautiful girl—so happy you got her back safe!

Hazel is still taking it easy and decompressing, spending basically all of her time in her crate (by her own choice). But she seems relaxed and in overall good spirits. (For now she's remaining leashed at all times, and we got her Fi tracker collar set back up and on her again.)

Thank you!!! Hold onto hope. You never know when the sighting you’ve been waiting for might happen.

Seriously, it was like: World Series Game 7 Saturday, cousin’s wedding/dog escape Sunday, then two-and-a-half straight days of stress/searching/not sleeping/barely eating. I can literally feel the tension melting away rn.

And I'm now evangelical about this: AirTags/Fi collars for all dogs. We thought Hazel didn't need her Fi anymore, but freak accidents (like the one that led to her escape) happen and a tracker would've saved us 3 days of the worst anxiety I've ever known. She'll now be wearing one all the time.

Thank you SO MUCH to everyone who shared the posts about her and to those who went out looking, flyering, etc. I have been so moved by how much support people gave us in our time of need.
