Ilkley Manor House, Ilkley, originated in the 14th century & stands on the remains of a Roman Fort. It is one of the oldest domestic buildings in West Yorks & is a rare example of a medieval domestic dwelling built from stone rather than timber due to the available source of dressed Roman Stone. /1
