Entertaining myself with the definition of 'pet' being inserted by the Renters Rights Act 2025.

Probably should add:
'(e) Fear of retribution from the animal if otherwise'
to cover most cats

I'm not saying the records I look at aren't consulted very often, but today, a PRO document ordering slip from the early 1900s dropped out of the volume I was looking at.

My Great Great Uncle John was killed in 1917. He has no known grave and is commemorated at Tyne Cot, and we visited with a very small E in 2017 for the centenary of his death.

At the going down of the Sun, and in the morning, we will remember them.

Said a sad farewell to our very elderly tabby cat earlier. She has been the oldest cat on the books at the vets for ages, at the grand old age of at least twenty four. She’s been ours for twelve of those and we loved her for all of that time. Rest well Molly.
