This is a really good episode.

Sarah articulates everything extremely well, she is very well spoken and provides incredible analysis with sourced statistics to back it up.

Really got me fired up.

a couple of hours before my keynote, I went through an intense negotiation with the organisers (for over a hour) where we went through my slides and had to remove anything that mentions 'Palestine' 'Israel' and replace 'genocide' with 'war crimes'

NEW REPORT: Artificial Power, our 2025 Landscape Report, is out.

Today’s AI isn’t just being used by us, it’s being used on us. We urgently need to reclaim public power over the future trajectory of AI. Another path is possible.

“Double-checking” AI doesn’t cut it, says @heidykhlaaf.bsky.social in @technologyreview.com. When an AI model draws conclusions from opaque, massive data sets, human oversight becomes a myth; and for military intel, a dangerous myth.
Generative AI is learning to spy for the US military
In a test run, a unit of Marines in the Pacific used generative AI not just to collect intelligence but to interpret it. Routine intel work is only the start.

The Pentagon is deploying AI tools for military surveillance & intelligence. When a model relies on thousands of data points to draw conclusions, ‘it wouldn’t be possible for a human to sift through that amount of info to determine if the output was erroneous’ says @heidykhlaaf.bsky.social.

My latest article, Archiving #Palestine is out!
With a needle and a few threads, Tatreez stitches the story of Palestinians through displacement & destruction dating back to the 1948 Nakba, again in 1967 Naksa, and the current genocide in #Gaza.
