They don’t bother contacting families when they shuttle migrants to facilities hundreds of miles away, or when they deport them to third countries.

So yeah, this sounds right.

If the victims weren't carrying IDs when ICE kidnapped them, DHS might not even know who they are. If the victims' families are afraid to come forward, it could take days, weeks or longer.

The most amazing part of this is that the far right didn't target her because she celebrated Kirk's death or even threw his own words back at them.

She merely expressed a well-founded worry that his murder might inspire the far right to greater violence and they apparently took that as a challenge.

Worth noticing the parallels between Trump's attack on the federal civil service and civil society. This is akin to firing probationary workers and imposing a hiring freeze for entry-level positions in civil society. The attacks against mid- and late-career civil society are coming, I'm sure.
The Dept of Education is now accepting comments on a proposed rule that would overhaul Public Service Loan Forgiveness, and make it too expensive for students to go into work that threatens the Trump administration
