Whenever people complain about the number of folks relying on food stamps, it is worth reminding them that SNAP is, by too large of a degree, a subsidy for corporations that refuse to pay a living wage and their political allies who reject public policy prescriptions to reduce income inequality.

My patience with my mother and her new cat is wearing thin, and I hate to say this because the cat is a genuine sweetheart. Every day I come home from work, my downstairs apartment smells like an outhouse because it puked or shit somewhere and I have to clean it up when I’m already dead exhausted.

The only sad part of moving out of a place run by an HOA is we no longer get emails asking "has anyone else seen this suspicious person he's been here every day this week casing the place in his vehicle" accompanied by a picture of a uniformed delivery guy in a UPS truck
nextdoor started sending me daily email digests i never asked for, but i'm really glad they did. someone just posted a photo of a parked car with a door open like "hey heads up in case this is your car." someone asked if they closed it. they said "no, because what if i close it and the car explodes"
