Oh man I remember I adored season one and then I think I quit halfway through season two because it got heavy in ways I couldn’t hang with.

As someone who reads a lot less than I wish (babies) and goes for the “junkfood” more than I’d like to admit these days, this has me thinking about how I will mainline a happy ending but one book I’m still thinking of after several years is contemporary romance that doesn’t hit the HEA bar.

I never even knew anyone to smoke it! They GRILLED it and said “oh yeah, I love barbecue.”

This is so many levels more poetic than the homesickness I had in California (seven years of bitching about how no one could properly operate a deep fryer and yelling “BARBECUE DOES NOT JUST MEAN MEAT YOU COOKED OUTDOORS!!”)

To me it has kind of an air of “how does one edgelord irl?” and that’s like the most creative idea he can conjure. But the WASP that lives inside me will not allow me to think any deeper about it.

But SPEAKING of sweet potatoes…for the last several years I’ve done a toasted salty Swiss meringue on top of mine in place of marshmallows and I’m yet to have any complaints. I just toss the leftover yolks into the sweet potato mix.

We are not Mac & Cheese for Thanksgiving people but this popped up shortly after we discussed throwing it in the mix this year for a change of pace. The feta/sage/sweet potato combo is calling to me.
