Asking for some help.

I'm working with someone who is designing a pilot to study the uptake of PFAS chemicals by mushrooms for purposes of remediation.

Does ANYONE have a contact for a mycologist or someone who knows about mushrooms? If so, can you point them my way? Many thanks.

I’m recruiting a PhD and MSC student for fall 2026 working on the movement ecology and conservation of Mexican spotted owls in SW forests and rocky canyonlands. Exciting partnership with Los Alamos National Laboratory. Great vibrant lab group, high impact research! 🦉

Every year since 1988, the United States has recognized World AIDS Day — until now.

Why not? Maybe because the Trump administration doesn’t want to acknowledge that its foreign aid cuts led to nearly 150,000 deaths from AIDS, according to Boston University researchers.

Shameful.

Delayed thanksgiving was a roaring success. Took @hollyanderson.bsky.social’s advice and did a cold start on the turkey and that’s the move.

Also, not to brag, but I got complimented on my plating technique. Not my first rodeo.

Can't forget about the can of cool whip in the other hand for the optimal pumpkin pie experience in option 3
So my pie take is there are no bad pies, but some pies have to be eaten a certain way:

1. Pecan: Always good

2. Fruit: Must be homemade. Otherwise bad.

3. Pumpkin: Best eaten cold at 7 am standing over a sink before everyone wakes up
Apple pie is bad. This is not really debatable. So is key lime pie, while we’re on the topic. Pecan pie is the 🐐 tho.

notre dame has had the ball for only 7 minutes and 41 seconds. they have a 56-point lead at the start of the 3rd quarter.

Was shocked to hear earlier the spread was 6+ touchdowns but ND might get that in the first quarter alone
This went from "Notre Dame, if you beat Syracuse by more than Miami did (28 points), you can avoid giving the committee a reason to care that Miami beat you" to "ok settle down Notre Dame" immediately

☘️ Game is already so out of hand you love to see it
Notre Dame leads Syracuse 21-0 and the offense hasn’t taken the field.

Two pick-sixes and a punt return TD. My god.

Notre Dame is up 21-0 and the offense hasn’t had a single second on the field. College football rocks.

Hmmm…what USAID wasn’t bad for America…what if getting rid of it only hurt us and everyone else?

What if the richest man in the world being responsible for ending aid to the poorest people in the world will go down as one of the most bizarre and disgusting acts of the 21st century?

Love that the announcers for the #NDvsUSC women's basketball game were wasting time talking about how the women would look better if they were still forced to tuck in their jerseys.

Who cares! Stop talking about how women look when they're just trying to play their sport!

For the first time in my career, I can’t tell people to trust what the CDC website says. And that is an incredibly sad and devastating place for this country to be.

Apparently RFK Jr. promised Senator Bill Cassidy that he wouldn’t remove the statement

“Vaccines do not cause autism” from the CDC website.

So what RFK Jr. did instead is spit in his face by leaving the statement there and adding this:

Some things hit me harder than most; this is one of those things.

So much misinformation that will take generations to undo.

In the meantime, babies won’t be vaccinated and will get sick and die from diseases we know how to stop.

Because the grift never ends.

My favorite thing about the robot vacuum is coming home to clean carpet with perfectly straight lines
Ever since I got a robot vacuum I’m actually keeping my house tidy just so I can open the app while I’m out and watch my little guy zoom around. Most pathetic reason for self improvement ever
