Nine NFL players under 48 have died this year. NINE. And twenty under the age of 65. I'm looking into it for a longer article. But I'm taking to bluesky to say that I cannot believe - or maybe its just too easy to believe - that in our NFL obsessed sports media culture, this is not a bigger story.

Five days ago, an ICE agent shoved a woman asking questions about the detention of her husband.

Today they attacked two journalists.

We cannot accept or normalize what has now become routine violence at 26 Federal Plaza. It has no place in our city.

We owe it to this family to keep showing up — like thousands of us did last week, like those of us who engaged in civil disobedience did the week before — for as long as it takes.

We will not let violence & cruelty & the lawless abduction of our neighbors go unanswered.

Court-watchers confirm this cruel ICE agent has been reinstated.

Last week, in the briefest moment of decency, violently throwing a woman to the floor was “beneath the men and women of ICE.”

This week, it’s back to business as usual. The cruelty, after all, is the point.
I was back at 26 Federal Plaza today, where an ICE agent violently threw this bereft woman to the ground in front of her kids. She had not touched him. She did not pose any threat. She had to be taken to the hospital. (🎥: Elias Eliahu)

Nexstar, the largest TV broadcaster, needs Donald Trump's approval for a $6 billion deal.

If approved, Nexstar would control TV stations reaching 80% of households — violating the cap set by Congress to protect against monopolies.

This censorship of Kimmel reeks of corruption.

Lucky to be a New Yorker and to have Brad Lander representing us ❤️
Another glorious Friday morning to run to work over the Brooklyn Bridge!

Especially grateful today for the glimpse of that copper-plated statue in the harbor reminding us how lucky we are — and what it means — to be New Yorkers.

CBS canceled Colbert’s show just THREE DAYS after Colbert called out CBS parent company Paramount for its $16M settlement with Trump – a deal that looks like bribery.

America deserves to know if his show was canceled for political reasons.

Watch and share his message.

The key mistake here, and this happens a lot across all parts of our culture, is the idea that unless your action is the sole deciding factor in the outcome, the action is useless.

Even people who get that we’re all just pebbles need to believe they could be *the one* that starts the avalanche.
