Sure. My dad got me started with Ray Bradbury. I found things on my own but if he enjoyed a certain book or author, he'd offer it up to me. Sci-fi, detective, spy...and horror. I was 17 when he gave me one by a guy named Stephen King, who had put his 3rd novel out called "The Shining."
