@devilsitdpod.bsky.social in the latest podcast you said that you'll be not happy if Mainoo is sold permanently. You also said, he doesn't have the legs/ running power and probably will never become that player. How do the 2 co-exist in the current formation?

Doubt it’ll be immediate but I think that’s a fatal blow for Amorim. Jones was spot on there - when you don’t have any sort of plan B chasing a game at Grimsby + are still wedded to your formation even when it means De Ligt is the spare man finding space then you are just doing your job really badly

Have my doubts this system can ever really work. It definitely can’t with this midfield. Don’t think it’s overreaction to say that if there’s no addition or radical plan B there, feels like RA is a dead man walking

Obviously loads of differences between ETH and Ruben but I think there’s a fundamental similarity in that their way of playing works when you have better players than the rest of the league in each position, and while they had that at Ajax/Sporting, you just aren’t going to get that in the PL

How a new deal was ever in consideration under these circumstances is a mark on Arsenal, and that’s even before the public backing from his manager (“after everything he’s been through”) and decisions to make him the cover star of programmes and hero content on social channels while this was known.

@devilsitdpod.bsky.social Listening to your latest podcast - I know Hojlund has been severely underperforming. But if you are going to talk about goals and assists from CF position then you have to talk about how many cut back goals/chances has he enabled as well.
