Heart disease in women is far too often misdiagnosed or dismissed

A (not so) shocking 84% of female cardiologists surveyed reported treating women whose symptoms were ignored or misdiagnosed

This is disgraceful. Advocate for better awareness.

This account is for sharing info with US scientists, both extramural and intramural to NIH, about attacks on science in the US.

Education is power, and we can help advocate for science and medicine together. 💪🧪

We are a team of NIH people. Please ask us questions you might have.

Agree 💯 that more work is needed to address gaps in women's health research in the recent National Academies report, including CVDs.

The era of precision therapy for inherited cardiovascular disease is here. To date, we had almost nothing to offer patients with severe inherited cardiomyopathy.

We are now on the verge of a new chapter with dozens of genetic-based therapies entering clinical trials.
