Not to sound controversial, but I love the framework of this deal for Shane Baz. I don't know enough about the players involved, but recent high draft picks who haven't fallen on face, Forret has performed very well in longer time. Regarded talent with options and only a level or two away.

Unless you are the guy's agent (or in that person's pocket) it's laughable to assert that Alex Bregman is the "jewel of the free agent class". 100 wRC+ after coming back from devastating leg injury that has reduced LT capacity for many others before. Upside is 3-4 WAR in 26, downside is horrific.

If I'm interpreting this correctly, the strength of schedule for NE Patriots this year is 3.6 standard deviations from the norm. The likelihood of 3.0 is 0.3%. Pretty wild and that will go down after this upcoming game.
