There is a compassion first base. More legal routes for asylum has 41% - a plurality: most Labour, LibDem voters, Remain voters, but it fails on the right.

Interesting results, but what would happen if you changed 'migrants' to 'people'?
We've tracked via Ipsos sympathy for those crossing Channel in boats for the last 5 years:
- those with 'no sympathy at all' are up to a quarter: visible, vocal + mobilised.
- those with 'a lot of sympathy' now a sixth (from a quarter
- But most people are still balancers, despite tougher climate

Ett av mina forskningsområden är kollektivt självbestämmande och staters rättigheter över territorium. Det finns stora skillnader mellan vad politiska teoretiker har att säga om detta, men ingen tycker att stater har en villkorslös rätt att existera.
