Hey look it’s possible to tell different kinds of stories, in which indigenous people make choices and practice solidarity and resist oppression and overcome harm. Many such cases.

Support Indigenous data sovereignty and support independent journalism.
This is a good article about data sovereignty, AI grift, the marginalization of Indigenous languages, and how these and many other things converge to wreak superfluous harm on Indigenous communities.

Radishharmers comes for the linguists
All words are cognate. Just as with the tree of life, language arose once, with one word, which eventually diverged into multiple branches of descendants.

So apparently some idiot decided that what Wikipedia really needed more of was Nazi-positive LLM output.

Had a look...
"Dholuo" - copied from WP.
"Dellys" - doesn't exist (!)
"Al-Busiri" - copied from WP, with two paragraphs added.
"Siwi language" - _not_ copied from WP, and a big mess...

Here's a very niche question: does anyone here study ancient languages and has experience in the pronunciation of Akkadian words? And before a million randos tell me that we don't know what dead languages sound like, there are scholars who spend their whole lives on this stuff.

To this point, I have been told in training modules that accessible digital copies aren’t available, then maybe I shouldn’t ask any of my students to read the text in question.
A serious pitfall of my job is that getting really clean versions of things I want my students to read often involves moderately breaking laws the breaking of which I’d rather not model for my students. But there are enough barriers to getting the kids to read and bad PDFs aren’t gonna be one.

Bro’s over here talking about sanctimonious locutions and cognitive purity because he is a man of the people
I understand the words perfectly. I just smh at the sanctimonious self-congratulation that smugly embraces cognitive purity over actually improving the lives of people, a strategy that did more harm to those people than any supposedly improper locutions.
