🚨NEW: I got to thinking about who represents us? The masked ICE agent, racially profiling US citizens and throwing people on the ground before getting their paperwork?

Or everyday people reminding the nation what it means to be American. Here are their stories:

This sort of thing is still happening every day in our country, but it seldom enters the national media narrative any more.
BREAKING: There has been another ICE raid at a Home Depot today — this time in Phoenix.

In this Huddled Masses exclusive, @adriancarrasquillo.bsky.social reported that immigration groups are weighing a boycott of the chain.

Stories like this one are the most important events taking place in this country right now.
George was just trying to get to work.

ICE pepper-sprayed him, dragged him from his car, locked him in a detention center, and placed him on suicide watch. He even missed his young daughter’s birthday in the process.

This man is a veteran and American citizen. Don't look away.
"They put me on suicide watch and they put me in the cell, I'm naked, in like a hospital dress and just a concrete bed with like a mattress, like a thin mattress and, they leave the light on 24/7."

It's Chicago today. Your town could be next.
"The president of the United States is choosing to escalate a conflict between the federal government and the state of Illinois into, also, a state-on-state conflict."

It isn't what it kind of sounds like, yet, but it's pointing in that direction. @jvl.bsky.social www.thebulwark.com/p/emergency-...

Carpenter has this exactly right.
In his crackdown on blue cities, Trump is dangerously and perversely fusing the roles of the U.S. military and domestic agencies. Amanda Carpenter connects the dots: 🔗 https://www.ifyoucankeepit.org/p/federalism-at-a-breaking-point

This video of Chicagoans intervening to save a man from being abducted off the streets by ICE is making the rounds on Instagram.

The creepiest part of Ezra' Kleins present spiel is that his mind can't separate fascist LEADERS (Kirk, Ben Shapiro), whom one should shun, from ordinary citizens seduced by them, to be engaged as neighbors, even if deplorable. A genuine elite derangement.

Please don't take your eyes off of these stories.
According to eyewitnesses, armed ICE agents dragged kids out of their beds in the middle of the night, zip tied them and put them in rented vans while raiding an * entire apartment building* on the South Side of Chicago.

Again, THIS is the story.

THIS is the story, and we ignore it in favor of less important narratives about elites like Charlie Kirk, Jimmy Kimmel, and James Comey. Please pay attention.
Detainees died under Bush, Obama, and Biden. But detainee deaths have accelerated during Donald Trump’s second term - nearly quadrupling the rate of deaths under Biden. Who's speaking up?

Taken just a few minutes ago outside the ICE facility in Portland that Trump claims is under siege. My message to Donald Trump is this: we don’t need you here. Stay the hell out of our city.

I was back at 26 Federal Plaza today, where an ICE agent violently threw this bereft woman to the ground in front of her kids. She had not touched him. She did not pose any threat. She had to be taken to the hospital. (🎥: Elias Eliahu)

All of this piece is outstanding, but especially the final section about Charlie Kirk.
"Joe Kahn acts as though the Times’s choice was to be Trump’s dupe or Biden’s stenographer. But the third way was obvious. Just look at Jeff Goldberg’s Atlantic and try to imagine its writers and editors being so studiously daft."

This goes well with the Catherine Rampell story I reposted a couple of minutes ago. As important as the stories of Kirk and Kimmel are, this is the real emergency.

The stories of Charlie Kirk and Jimmy Kimmel are important, but these stories are the real emergency.
1/3 Am almost too angry for words. But I paused this enraging vid to pull up recent SCOTUS case allowing these atrocities. Read here Brett Kavanaugh’s words: does it look like US citizen Andrea Velez was “promptly let go?”

Vance is still alive, so are we allowed to call HIM lying, bigoted scum? Somebody from the thought police please let me know.
Vance: “People on the left are much likelier to defend and celebrate political violence. This is not a both sides problem. If both sides have a problem, then one side has a much bigger and malignant problem and that is the truth.”
September 15, 2025 at 7:40 PM
Charlie Kirk did not deserve his killing; nor did he advocate free speech or nonviolence. I also don't think he was killed 'for his beliefs', any more than Abraham Lincoln was killed for his.

Which work? Calling for gay people to be stoned to death? Blaming airplane crashes on black pilots? Anti-vax bullshit? Election denialism? Pushing Great Replacement Theory?

Kirk’s murder is awful and ominous for this country. But no, we don’t need to honor him or “continue his work.”
