Every year on Memorial Day, I share this video of French caretakers who take sand from Omaha Beach in Normandy, and scrub them into the letters to give them the gold coloring.
They do this for all 9,386 US soldiers who died.
France also gave us this land as American soil.

If there’s hope for our American soul, it’s through our Canadian cousins up north.
Even though it is the bare minimum, it still really matters that Poilievre immediately accepted the results, was classy on defeat and pushed back on boos against Carney and talked about uniting the country.
It’s sad that we can’t take this for granted anymore, but I truly appreciate him doing that.
