Sometimes it's the little things that make the day sweet.

Four random reasons to visit Petworth House. 1. Art responds to art. 2. Severe babies look down their nose at you. 3. Multi-headed buff beings with six, seven or even eight packs. 4. Painted lace (I'm a bit obsessive about lace). There are other reasons but four photos is all I'm allowed.

RIP John Prescott, to whom I sold five copies of a book called 'Election Rides' in 1992, not long after John Major won a surprise majority in the general election of the same year. Labour of course won the next one and I like to think I helped, in a small way, with my excellent stock control.

Currently researching Sir Joshua Reynolds's 1789 painting, The Death of Cardinal Beaufort, and its demonic 'fiend' figure that re-emerged in a major restoration last year. He got very bad press in 18th century art circles but I think he's cute, in a demonic way of course!

Hello Blueskyers. I'm Sam, I'm in my second year of an Art History MA at University of Sussex. Currently poking around at the turn of the 18th/19th centuries, so here's a fabulous Fuseli for starters.
