Four random reasons to visit Petworth House. 1. Art responds to art. 2. Severe babies look down their nose at you. 3. Multi-headed buff beings with six, seven or even eight packs. 4. Painted lace (I'm a bit obsessive about lace). There are other reasons but four photos is all I'm allowed.

Currently researching Sir Joshua Reynolds's 1789 painting, The Death of Cardinal Beaufort, and its demonic 'fiend' figure that re-emerged in a major restoration last year. He got very bad press in 18th century art circles but I think he's cute, in a demonic way of course!
