Summer science project was low cost solar hot water for the outdoor shower. Two 10 foot sticks of 4" PVC pipe holds about 12 gallons. With black paint, even on partly cloudy days gets plenty hot to provide enough hot water for 2 showers. Should payout in about 2 years.

The key to global trade negotiations is to first throw your own economy into a recession. You always want to fight from a position of weakness. That’s just the art of the deal. Everyone gets this.

Just back from a 4000 mile trip in our F150 Lightning and the Ford trip planning software is (there is no nice way to put this) shite. I think it tries to forecast the future energy use based on past driving? Anyway, completely not to be relied upon. Use ABRP. #evcharging #electricvehicles

New snow accumulation of 60-66 inches is possible.

Marcus Baker is highest peak in the Chugach Range east of Anchorage.
The snow forecast for Mt. Marcus Baker during an atmospheric river never disappoints. ❄️

EV charging taxonomy needs a refresh. There is too big a spread in the charging speeds of both Level 2 and Level 3 chargers to be useful in determining the right charger for the right application. E.g. a 3KW Level 2 has completely different application than a 19KW. Thoughts? #EVcharging

Seems like people wanna talk about all the locked-up stuff at chain pharmacies and big box stores today. Here’s a gift link to a feature I published a few months ago about why retailers started putting so much stuff behind plexiglass and how badly it’s backfired. www.bloomberg.com/news/feature...
Retailers Locked Up Their Products—and Broke Shopping in America
CVS, Target and other chains have barricaded everything from toiletries to cleaning supplies. It’s backfired in almost every way.

Texas has installed more solar in the last eight months than 39 states have *ever* installed. Colorado is #12 on the rankings with 4,200 megawatts installed. Texas installed ~20% more than that from March 1 to November 1.... over a gigawatt of solar + storage each *month* this year! #txenergy 🔌🔋💡

Fascinating. Secondary literature (and presumably press reporting and social media) have been over-estimating the contribution of tyre wear to air pollution. Good news (though all that tyre rubber must still end up somewhere in the environment).
