Retired fossil fuel engineer, now moved on to energy for the 21st century.
Summer science project was low cost solar hot water for the outdoor shower. Two 10 foot sticks of 4" PVC pipe holds about 12 gallons. With black paint, even on partly cloudy days gets plenty hot to provide enough hot water for 2 showers. Should payout in about 2 years.

The challenge is getting costs under control. Maybe SMRs can do it but everywhere else you scale up to reduce costs...but with nucs it doesn't seem to work.

It is. Still increasing in absolute TWH but gradually declining in percentage terms.

EV charging taxonomy needs a refresh. There is too big a spread in the charging speeds of both Level 2 and Level 3 chargers to be useful in determining the right charger for the right application. E.g. a 3KW Level 2 has completely different application than a 19KW. Thoughts? #EVcharging
