Even when the sky is quiet, our hearts aren’t. The trauma of these months is something we carry every second. My family is doing its best to stay stable, but we still need support to move forward.

Love and solidarity with disabled people and LGBTQIA+ folk everywhere.

The hate right now is abhorrent. So many knowingly on the wrong side of history.

You deserve so much better.

With absolute respect to everyone who has…

I don’t actually care if you worked all your life or not before becoming disabled… nor how much you “paid in to the system”.

It shouldn’t make a difference.

Every disabled person deserves support, regardless of employment.

Very happy to share that I just published a new paper from my thesis! 🎉

We analysed 546 species of ant to understand how extreme specialisation into reproductive and non-reproductive roles evolved.

Key discoveries in thread🧵 👇

I spent most of the last 2 weeks in and out The Western General in Edinburgh visiting my mum who went through a big operation

Every single member of staff were magnificent, I must have interacted with 10-15 individuals from porters to surgeons and they were superb

We are blessed with our NHS

#OCDTalkHour next Wednesday is Christmas Eve and I am going to be busy with family - I would prefer to do OCDTalkHour on the Tuesday (23 Dec) at 7pm UK time.

How do people feel about this?

The social model of disability is very important and very valid.

But please, can people stop taking it to the extreme and misrepresenting it… my disabilities are still disabilities even without society’s ableism, Capitalism, etc…

Suggesting otherwise is hugely ableist.

#NotAloneTalk what is your comfort TV show? (Or podcast, book, whatever.) For me right now it's The Detectorists on BBC IPlayer (and I think on Britbox as well).

Me neither, not remotely. I feel the "what does it mean about me" bit can be important here, so decoupling the attributions about self from the event.

One of the most productive exposures i had was when something bad actually did happen but it wasn't a disaster and no one blamed me🤯

I guess that's part of why we're supposed to cultivate "so what?" mentality, but I haven't managed that yet.

Welcome to #NotAloneTalk, our daily talk to feel less alone. It's 8pm UK time every day, tonight will last about 40 minutes. How it works:
- Look for hashtag #NotAloneTalk
- Include hashtag in any replies (or new topics!) you post
- Also look at the host's feed (me today).

How is everyone today?

It seems to me that, with many compulsions, the feedback comes so late that it's hard to link up mentally. Wondering what everyone else's thoughts are on this. #OCDTalkHour

Marc, @ocdcheckin.bsky.social was talking recently about resisting compulsions, then realizing the bad thing that the compulsions are meant to prevent doesn't happen, and how that eventually weaken the compulsion. 1/2
