Lover of cute stupid shit, recently extra-tired human being, alleged Master of Public Administration.
I'm going to be starting a new job on Monday, and I want to be excited about it. The mission is something I'm really passionate about, and they're offering me significantly more pay for what sounds like similar work. But, it feels weird celebrating my personal win when things are so bad all over.

Finished watching Aggretsuko Season 5 with my partner a couple of days ago. Highly recommend. For a show that cute, it deals with some very timely, real topics (the problems of living in a gerontocracy, hidden homelessness, disaffected young adults not feeling like adult life is worth the effort) .

Every ICE officer should be tried for crimes against humanity.
The “prosecute the former regime at every level” candidate has my vote in 2028.

Tired of how exhausting it is living in this trashfire of a country; doubly tired of having to act like shit is normal in day-to-day interactions. I don't want to scream *at* anyone I run into, I just want to scream in general at the stupidity.

Isn't it odd that the United States has enough money to suddenly run Venezuela, but not enough to run our own country?

There is always cash in the piggy bank for bombs to kill people, but never for healthcare to keep them alive.

So when he said “drill baby drill” what he really meant was “bomb baby bomb” a sovereign nation to overthrow their government and steal their oil.

Forcing employees to work in the office while also making them pay for parking sounds like such a scam, but in the US it's apparently pretty common ( -_- ;)

Donald Trump has to be the most inept person in history when it comes to matching a liquid foundation to your skin tone.

I'll take whatever comfort I can, in these dark times.
I mean yeah it’s an authoritarian takeover but can we take some comfort in the fact that the people doing it are INSANELY stupid?

The bullshit nickle-and-dime fees and services required to be a renter in the US are ridiculous.
As a cat owner, just to keep this weird little beast in my house, I have to pay a non-refundable fee for my pet everytime I move, pay monthly pet rent, and pay an annual "pet screening" fee of $30.

If you don’t have time to watch the original video, you should definitely watch @kylekulinskishow.bsky.social recap it.

It’s only scratching the surface of how much money Silicon Valley is stealing from us.

We need a writer/director who does the fun Tarantino stuff (approaching dramas with a sense of play and silliness, putting most of the tension in long dialogue scenes, etc.) without, you know, all that other stuff

Legitimately hate how imagery from "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" has been co-opted by retailers like Walmart. The whole point of the story is that the holiday isn't about the gifts and food; it's about being together with each other.
I'm not a Christian, but this makes me low-key furious.

My dad was able to get insurance for the first time in over a decade after the ACA was passed. It's by far an imperfect system, but it absolutely improved the healthcare situation for so many Americans.
The moment when 30 million American's received healthcare (2010) The moment when insurance companies had to start covering preexisting conditions, young adults could stay on their family's policy and I could trust that the small print couldn't screw me if I needed serious medical assistance. 🇺🇸

So, the economy is supposedly doing great, but even Fox News is sharing cost-saving holiday ideas like "just don't buy people gifts"? Yowzah.

Mainstream Dems (especiallythose in the Senate) are going to be in for a rude fucking awakening when the start losing primaries to Dem Socialists. This capitulation is inexcusable, especially less than a week after Dems swept election night all over the place.

I thought the new signage for the Oval Office was just the regime's normal tackiness, but a buddy made this connection for me, and yeah, that's gotta be it, huh?
