Industry lobbying has to be decoupled from governance
This, in a nutshell, is where we’re at. All the lies, the distraction, NGO-blaming and drive towards even further deregulation is to cover the naked fact that, in Ireland, big polluters pull the strings and our politicians just nod along.

Not that I think that any of you are not aware of this, but we need to start saying it clearly so we know we're on the same page -
Climate breakdown is driven by a storm of lies. This lying is systemic, funded and coordinated, and operates across almost all media, old and new.
This week's column argues that we cannot fight the climate crisis without also fighting the epistemic crisis.

The fundamental problem is this: that most of the means of communication are owned or influenced by the very rich, says Guardian columnist George Monbiot

It's like Fianna Fail and Fine Gael, have joined the club of pro- industry and billionaire politicians and are distinct from the likes of the GOP and the Tories only by words, as their actions and in-actions only advance goals of private money, to the detriment of the notion of a habitable planet
The idea that Ireland has ever "gold plated" the transposition of EU Environmental law, is causing a lot of people in my world to chortle manically.

It is easy to unite over the goal to destroy. It is more complex to unite to build something - Right now, We need to unite over the goal to not let the planet be destroyed.

Afterwards, It's not like we can't use the tools to deal with complexities, just because some reject debate and consensus.
More people want to see a left government than the continuation of FF/FG.

There is an onus on all on left to build on the momentum from Connolly campaign.

All parties should now join PBP in ruling out coalition with FF and FG, so that the next election can be a clear choice.

I can tell you: there won't be sincere inquiry and redress, nor reconciliation, until the government is not made up of the parties whose legacy these institutions are.

If you do nothing for Nature but one thing this week - get onto your email and let your public representative have it - this clear- felling of native Irish woodland can't be let stand.

Clear-felling not only destroyed some of the very few native trees left in Ireland, but a whole habitat with it.

In addition to being totally pathetic, he's also completely wrong.
EPA polls consistently show that the vast majority, across all ages, incomes , urban or rural, all want the government to take action.
So by polarising, he must mean that Micheal o Leary,Amazon, and Tirlan don't want it
