While the world focused on the Epstein files, Congress took up a dangerous bill that sponsors say is to help law enforcement get greater access to “less-than-lethal” weapons.

In reality, it deregulates dangerous weapons to help a billion-dollar weapons industry make more money.

Victory for the fight against gun violence!

We are proud to have supported @saferdelaware.bsky.social in making this sensible law a reality.

States that have enacted permit-to-purchase systems have seen a 40% reduction in the firearm homicide rate. This will save countless lives in Delaware.

3 years ago, the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act became law, delivering the most significant gun safety progress in decades.

Since January, the Trump agenda has tried to unravel that progress: gutting mental health funding, weakening gun laws, and putting communities at risk.

Three years ago today, President Biden signed the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act.

Subsequently we saw the largest homicide rate drop in recent history and a 20% drop in mass shootings (as of Sept. 2024).

But under the Trump administration many of these safety measures are under threat. 👇

Had the privilege of speaking and learning today at the Coalition for a Safer Delaware's Fall Forum on public health and gun violence. My big takeaway from the day?

Now is not the time to pull back on gun violence prevention efforts. It is time to double down. We need to keep going.
