UPDATE — Court gives the government until 1:30 to respond to Mahmoud Khalil’s legal team.
“The deadline has come and gone and Mahmoud Khalil must be released immediately,” his lawyers say in statement. “Anything further is an attempt to prolong his unconstitutional, arbitrary, and cruel detention.”

UPDATE — A federal judge ruled Wednesday that the government had until 9:30AM today (30 minutes ago) to appeal Mahmoud Khalil’s possible release. They *did not* do so.
