I sent them a letter as a concerned author saying that libraries are a place where kids can get information and stories that have been assessed for quality and appropriateness, and if they don’t have the library they can and will find things on the internet that have NOT been vetted by anyone
In Murfreesboro, TN they are currently trying to make both "public homosexuality" illegal AND ban books with LGBTQ content for kids.
If you'd like to do a small thing today, you could drop their public library an email in support of titles like Flamer, and This Book Is Gay.

I sent them a letter as a concerned author saying that libraries are a place where kids can get information and stories that have been assessed for quality and appropriateness, and if they don’t have the library they can and will find things on the internet that have NOT been vetted by anyone

It's really important to get in touch with your local reps and express support for freedom to read. Books about POC are not "CRT" and books about queer folk aren't "pornography." Drop your library director, library board, city council, and mayor a line. The other side absolutely is, we should too.
