This is an article that I've wanted to write for over a year, and I finally got the chance to do it!

For me, writing is a form of thinking. It really helps clarify what's going on in my brain, because I have to like, explain it to write it down.

So, if you're a beginner and you want to write a blog post on something you're learning? Please do! It will help you, and everyone else.

Bluesky's (& atproto's) philosophy on the otherhand is based in open web principles.

we care about interconnected data, user-controlled presence, and interjoined application experiences

fundamentally, we care about a network that is greater than the sum of its parts

5. Bluesky's team consists of about 20 full-time employees. That's a million users here per employee now 🤯

Also, we're hiring!

let me set a few expectations on custom feeds so yall know what's coming

the basic thing you're gonna see is that suddenly there are more feeds up on the top that you can switch between

if you're completely disinterested in the deets, that's pretty much the high level 1/n

new unexpected first for me: starring in erotic developer fan fiction

(sry for reposting @pfrazee.com & everyone else that reads this I can’t resist)
Forgive me for what I am about to unleash...

Paul and Daniel sat side by side in the dimly lit office, the soft glow of their computer screens illuminating their focused expressions. They were software engineers working late into the night, their passion for code fueling their dedication.
daniel tells me it might be possible to change the data structure so that it's possible, but he had that kind of quiver in his voice when he said it that tells me I shouldnt expect it any time soon

that means if we want to expunge the actual records, we have to do a "rebase"

yes. there’s other ways to deal with even the worst actors. ignore, shun, humorously dismiss, refute. but “bullying” escalates cycles of confrontation that bring out the worst in people. i think bad actors sometimes thrive off the negativity too.

You needed blocks. We cleared our calendars to finish building out blocks.

Blocking has shipped to Bluesky web app users and will be available in mobile shortly (version 1.25, when it passes App/Play Store review — hopefully tomorrow morning).

You can access this feature now at staging.bsky.app.
