I don't think it's all that mysterious, they want to destroy as much as they can before someone stops them.
Ideally anything that will let them a) benefit Elon's business interests or b) post a big flashy employee body count

Like even the probationary employees are easier to fire but they’re doing that illegally too. They could do a lot of what they want to do legally but they’d need to do it much more slowly. Worth an outlet digging into why speed is of the essence.

A couple days ago I noticed my local Camping World was flying their massive and beautiful flag at full staff. I guess Jimmy Carter, a former president and navy veteran who led a life that pretty much defines what it means to be a good man doesn’t qualify for their respect.
