Philly people: lots of words will get your post into the feed linked below, such as “Schuylkill” or “cheesesteak” or “Phanatic.” If your post is Philly-specific but doesn’t have obvious Philly keywords (“Someone just mooned the Portal”), stick a single 🔔 somewhere in the post & it goes in the feed.
Honestly the fact that Bissinger ghostwrote the Fetterman memoir makes it somewhat interesting to me. Probably our best writer with an expensive and debilitating leather clothing addiction.

I clicked on a Billboard headline about how the latest TSwift album is, five weeks in, still at the top of the album charts, because I was wondering how they figure that out in the modern era, and to their credit the methodology is laid out right in the article.

To the extent that those 56% are themselves being honest, that’s the group. We’ve identified the demographic of American wallet inspectees.
This week's Economist/YouGov tracker:

Right Track/Wrong Track: 30/61

Trump Job Approval: 39/56

[No issue-specific job approvals this week. But I'll note that only 56% of Trump voters think he's honest.]

The two things I would do if I were serious about passing the bar: 1) speak to psychics to see if I could do it; 2) attend and graduate from law school.

Think about buying a car, a fun, stress-free negotiating process that everybody loves. Now imagine that if you don’t buy a car you die and if you buy the wrong car you also die
Trump: "I want the money to go into an account for people where they buy their own health insurance. It's so good. The insurance will be better. It'll cost less. Everybody is gonna be happy. They're gonna feel like entrepreneurs. They're actually able to go out & negotiate their own insurance"

Apparently every Schwarzenegger movie will eventually be remade. (And apparently they already remade CONAN 15 years ago? I don't remember that at all.)
With a new Predator and a new Running Man in theaters, Arnold movies are once again having a moment. Here are 10 of my favorite underrated Schwarzenegger films you can watch at home.

(All Arnold movies are underrated, frankly, but these are the ones no one talks about.)

The second-easiest James Bond reboot scenario there is: They cloned him 30 years ago, sent the clone to Eton, put him in Naval Intelligence and then MI6, etc., etc. Bada bing, bada Bond.

Wait, they won?
Based on offensive success rate, that was the Eagles' worst regular-season performance of the Sirianni/Hurts era. A 6th percentile offensive performance.

The only game that was worse was the playoff loss to the Bucs after the 2023 season.

Basically any and all third-party energy in this country (at least for federal elections) should go to advocating for electoral systems other than plurality voting.
“Rather than taking over the Democratic Party the same way the right took over the Republican Party, we should take the easier route and just start up a new party ourselves!”

I’m about to fill my pockets with stones and walk into the sea.

There is no legal or contractual obligation to finish your term, Senator.
In an emotional excerpt from his new book, Sen. John Fetterman said he should have dropped out of his 2022 senatorial race while severely battling depression after his stroke.

Whether or not (most likely not) this kind of talk turns into actual healthcare law, I think it’s part of a strategic move to shift the entire blame for skyrocketing premiums from congressional Republicans to greedy insurance companies.
