Still hate the games industry - love the games and the people making them, though

Hope it stays chill over here!
The... everything from this year's VGAs confirmed for me one thing: gamers love - and I mean with their whole chests - to be angry

I'm so glad I'm not buying any more games next year - don't have to hear any more BS about whatever new game comes around to piss you'll off

You fool! That also includes people who were *negatively* affected by AI

Oh no. Maybe that Chris game consultant had a point about knowing your audience and tailoring everything to the proper niche in an algorithm
Genuinely incredibly fascinating study in what marketing vectors lead to literally zero sales here, wowwww

If you can look at an online artist's dark skin character and think, "I could change that character's skin tone, and nothing would change," just assume they can't draw Black people and move on with your life

Trying to wait out the starving artists they're stealing from by saying, "We had to really think of how to make the Theft Machine steal real good for this one, guys" is a bold move against well-known tenacious starving artists
McDonald's has released an AI-generated Christmas ad

The studio behind it says they 'hardly slept' for several weeks while writing AI prompts and refining the shots — 'AI didn't make this film. We did'

I'm not fond of the ever growing notion by regular folk that comedians are better journalists and newspeople than actual newspeople because of the one time a comedian made a big revelation not thoroughly researched by the news people

That's just being an enthusiast - not a specialist

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say the instant a parent sees this on their kid's phone, they either know they've lost the fight or lock in like never before

I've just uploaded a repack of Iron Man, the 2008 movie tie-in game developed by Artificial Mind & Movement and published by SEGA.

This is the PC port which is based on the PS2 version, it's working with full controller support, just extract and play.

I'm convinced some of these people thinking about A/I in such a hypothetical scenario don't even know what it does.

They're actively ignoring clear examples of the chaos it brings, because they want to use the New and Hip Thing

I'm slowly learning this is probably the worst thing to say about a game in the modern age: "Best thing since sex and sliced bread. Can't talk about it, though - story's too based"
i've (finally) been playing hundred line and it's rapidly becoming my goty i wish i could say more but i feel like anything i say would be a big ol spoiler

I'm convinced online artists are all a part of an elaborate cult, but I've yet to prove it

I don't even see this kind of mentality in programmer circles, and they don't have to regularly beg for rent money

I wrote more words about how it feels to be a translator watching the games press report on AI and labor, coming from a field that's fought these battles for decades. It may look like I'm beating up on one outlet, but it's not about them; I've been trying to write this for me and my peers all year.

On the proliferation of machine translation in video game outlets covering the effects of AI on labor.

Here it is. I just uploaded a repack of Tron Evolution, the prequel tie-in game for Tron Legacy that was delisted way back in 2019.

It's working offline with both Securom and Windows Live DRM fully disabled, just install and play, enjoy.
