I finally found a definition of the difference between a language and a dialect that I agree with! Thanks to Dave Huxtable quoting Max Weinreich on YouTube I now know אַ שפּראַך איז אַ דיאַלעקט מיט אַן אַרמיי און פֿלאָט (translated from Yiddish: A language is a dialect with an army and navy)

I’m always looking for things that explain a lot but that people have a hard time remembering.
Examples: Air is stuff. Pee comes from blood. All land vertebrates have a single common ancestor. Venus is bright enough to cast visible shadows. Clouds are heavy. Bones are alive.

My wifi router died over night. I think something liquid may have been spilled on it because the surface is sticky. The replacement won't arrive until Monday. Could be a dull weekend.
