The best part of the train ride to Springfield is that you can see a 2.3 gigawatt nuclear plant. They are close to rail roads because that’s how you transport big components to a construction site

A recent Idaho National Lab report found that Illinois has the highest potential for new gigawatt-scale nuclear plant capacity of any state in the country.

But it remains illegal to build anything larger than 300 megawatts. 🔌💡

Nvidia, the world's most valuable company, has just made its first move into nuclear power: it is partnering with PG&E's recently-saved Diablo Canyon Nuclear plant to build AI inside the plant.

The deal is being announced right now.

Today at COP29, the US announced a roadmap to deploy 15 GW of nuclear by 2035, & 15 GW per year after that by 2040, for a total of 200GW by 2050. I kicked this off and led it from OSTP while there and I’m very glad to see the final product from whole team. Let’s go www.whitehouse.gov/wp-content/u...

At COP29 a few moments ago the USA just dropped a 200GW nuclear roadmap.

As recently as 2016 nuclear wasn't even welcome as a topic at COP and now we have climate-focused governments dropping era-defining nuclear plans there?

It's a new world.
