The line “vote for us or you’ll get the far right” doesn’t really work when the policies you’re enacting are barely distinguishable from what the far right propose.

@jeffsmithmp.bsky.social regarding the new asylum plans, all I have to say is REALLY? Where is the compassion? Keir Starmer’s Labour Party is worse than the Tories. At least they didn’t pretend to be anything other than Tories.

Some of my favourite meditation practices are those that take me outside. Today I did some mindful walking in the sunshine in the park, and a seated practice on a bench, taking in the sun on my skin, the cool breeze on my arms, and the tweeting of the birds. Being present brought me so much joy.

Also doing my civic duty by objecting to the new plans for Chorlton Precinct - shortly going to the planning committee. These are RADICALLY different to the plans that local communities were asked to comment on. Very sneaky.

Another day, another email to my MP @jeffsmithmp.bsky.social Shocked and appalled that protesting genocide in Palestine can now get you arrested - and how police are treating protestors as if we're the terrorists.

💫 Small, restorative breaks throughout the day can do wonders for your mind and body. Step outside, breathe deeply, or close your eyes for a few minutes. These tiny moments of calm can help you reset and recharge.

Leading a new workshop today on Understanding and Managing Pain for Manchester Mind. So many people living with chronic pain get a diagnosis but no explanation of what is going on in the body. I hope this short taster workshop will give people some power back and give them some things to try out.

Severely disappointed that my mp
@jeffsmithmp.bsky.social wasn’t on the list of MPs rebelling against the welfare reform bill. I did not vote for cuts to disability benefits.

You’re telling me that right wing voters that Labour was trying to appeal to voted for a right wing party anyway and left wing voters decided not to vote for Labour because they’re too right wing now? Who could have possibly predicted this.

@jeffsmithmp.bsky.social it’s not just me that is disillusioned with Labour over the welfare cuts. You must stand up for the most vulnerable in society and stop punishing them.
