1/11 In @science.org: A new perspective on how our intestines renew. Cells are not “pushed out” by crowding or die from apoptosis. Instead, cells play a mechanical tug-of-war, where weaker cells extrude, reframing gut renewal as force-regulated. www.science.org/doi/10.1126/...
Epithelial tension controls intestinal cell extrusion
Cell extrusion is essential for homeostatic self-renewal of the intestinal epithelium. Extrusion is thought to be triggered by crowding-induced compression of cells at the intestinal villus tip. In th...

Witness the transformation of Utrecht's inner ring road as it evolves into a vibrant city boulevard. The once busy traffic road has been converted into a safe route with greenery and trees, thereby creating a calming journey for cyclists and pedestrians.

🤓 (Incl. Weense stijl halteborden).

Proud to share our insights on WNT7B driving pancreatic cancer progression. Sprangers et al uses organoids to show that WNT7B employs short-range signaling driving tumor growth and mediate a shift of PDAC cells towards a more aggressive phenotype

WNT7B drives a program for pancreatic cancer subtype switching and progression
Hyperactivation of WNT signaling is a well-established hallmark of cancer. Various epithelial cancers express high levels of WNT7B and WNT10A that are not commonly expressed during tissue homeostasis,...
