Police have already started arresting peaceful protestors under the Terrorism Act for silently holding signs which say "I oppose genocide. I support Palestine Action"

Seeing the world as it is is neither cause for depression or for celebtration. Those responses are choices we make, choices that cannot alter reality but may allow those who choose radical honesty to live with themselves more fully.

56 million years ago, Earth had a carbon surge called the PETM. It drove 5–8 °C of warming, acidified oceans, wiped out marine life, and took 200,000 years to recover. Today we’re dumping CO₂ 10× faster. The planet will recover again—but humanity won’t.

For those keeping track (and who isn't?), the planet is now at day 3 at 1.65C above the 1850-1900 pre-industrial baseline.

While MSM sells outrage 24/7 with Kimmel, Tylenol, Putin, Israel... collapse just doesn't make the cut. Do folks care about the end of everything anymore?

I’m still waiting for a critique of “doomers” that isn’t dripping with strawman arguments, shallow optimism, and tone policing.

Grief and realism get dismissed as defeatism, while critics wrap their own emotional discomfort in moral superiority.

A new World Bank report cites data from a forthcoming study: it shows the biomass of wild terrestrial mammals as being 2% of all mammals on earth.
A widely quoted 2018 study had shown that proportion as 4% (see next post).
The rest is us & our livestock.

The world is 700% richer than in 1970 but the average person is only 8% richer.

Because the richest 0.01% are 4000% richer.

We are all being robbed every second of every day, and it doesn't matter how much profit or growth there is.

It will never reach you.

Every generation accepts the world they inherit as “normal.” That’s shifting baseline syndrome. We forget how much has been lost—just like we accept our own aging bodies as the new normal compared to a few years ago.
