Are any leftists talking about Decarlos Brown on X?

My understanding after doing primary source research is that Brown should’ve been off the street but was not due to a mental healthcare staff shortage.

But I don’t see anyone talking about it and instead my whole feed is calling for more policing

XAI’s dogwater performance on the 2025 IMO confirms that their Grok 4 benchmark claims were hot air. Their eye popping metrics were down to the following innovations:

I don’t think we need more police to increase public safety, but appreciated this thoughtful take on the mayoral candidates.

Stop building tech on the presumption that the state is always going to be a positive or even a neutral actor.
A warning to all AI researchers: "The data analytic tools now being used to scour [students'] social media were enhanced during the Biden administration...But to use them to search social media of nonviolent students, the official said, is different from what the previous administration intended."

History is shaped by the PT Barnums, rarely the Albert Einsteins.
Coming around to the view that a certain kind of narcissist simply needs Musk to be a genius rather than a fraud, because they want to believe there’s a hereditary Brahmin class of accomplished, beautiful minds—and that they’re a part of that class.

The fact so many Americans pretend they care about children by supporting anti-trans politicians when we are a country that regularly incarcerates, starves, and doesn’t give medical care to children, breaks my brain.

I was at a VC’s office that had chromosome labeled bathrooms.

I didn’t even consider that could be a thing so I just walked in on an investor in an accidental power move?

I wonder if Trump also wants to bankrupt universities because banning international students could do that.
UMass/Amherst (left) and Wesleyan University are both warning their international students to be on American soil before noon on Jan 20 -- Inauguration Day.

NYC crime rates in the 70s are used to justify extreme NYPD funding, so I’ve always been curious why there was so much crime.

A team spent 8 years making a documentary on this and goes back to a fiscal crisis, union propaganda, and a standoff with the president (which may repeat next year).

But from your description I would have to disagree. Deduction (infinite or not) only gets you the logical unpacking of things you already know and induction only gets you the implications of processes you already know about

The biggest tech accelerator is asking for government tech startups for the first time and it hit me:

We are underestimating how much gov tech will be deployed under Trump, how bad it will be, how good it could be under a well intentioned admin.

Researching this now.

Existential question 1:

How do you pay for compute costs without taking on valuations that cause you to be obligated to do potentially unsafe things for shareholders?

Existential question 2:

What is your obligation to your country’s military as an AI company?

i’ve said this for years. blockchains have mostly proven useful for payments and identity, and most users prefer web1 systems like DNS because key management sucks
