She is just fucking fantastic, isn't she? I wish she was my best friend and drinking buddy.

I'm sure you're aware of this, but she's on the cast of and shows up all the time on various Mythical YouTube shows like Mythical Kitchen and Good Mythical Morning.

Salt, beans and Takis are on the way.

Thank you for everything you're doing. 🩵

Transit workers, letter carriers, librarians, trash collectors...

Each one of them has 100x the value to modern society compared to law enforcement. And in a just world they would be paid and respected accordingly.

Now I'm a pretty committed atheist, but it's stuff like *THAT* that makes me wish I believed in god. Because there is not a Hell out there that can burn hot enough for the monsters who are doing this to my fellow Chicagoans. 😡

Well, she told us she had a great time *handing out* candy, but her parents didn't let her go out Trick or Treating because they happen to be Mexican-American and they are (quite justifiably) afraid of the goddamm ICE Gestapo that are out terrorizing families like theirs.

I took my 5 y/o to a Saturday matinee this past weekend and it was the perfect way to deal with the day-after-Halloween blues. It was an absolute delight.

And as it is, I haven't been able to get the songs out of my head for weeks. I suspect they may be buried in there permanently now.

couldn't really believe it when a friend told me his partner doesn't ride transit bc it gives her anxiety, and that's why I don't drive

I am 100x more nervous crossing the street with my kindergartener - even at a light or marked pedestrian crossing - than I am riding public transit with him.

And I'm saying this as someone who has never had a driver's license, and thus has spent 1000s of hours on the CTA at all hours of the day.

Made me realize I hadn't given the soundtrack of proper listen and probably at least that long?

Anyway, I rectified that. Which was a good decision. 😄

I have the same thought every morning when I get on the train to go to my stupid email job.

Ah yes, my favorite after-work question - will it be faster to walk the mile home or wait for the bunched-up buses?

Lol... I just bought myself one of those at a garage sale this summer! It's great since my husband is not often home and my kid is not big enough to help with that kinda thing yet.

I love the Driftless region. Galena is a spot of heaven on earth - that area where Wisconsin and Illinois and Iowa all come together is just magical.

Highly recommended!

In addition to containing tons of fantastic photos, it also just feels really good to support people doing the really valuable work while everything else seems to be falling the fuck apart.
