Anyway it's -1C & all the bikeshare docks near me on west side of Toronto are empty or nearly at 11am on monday morning in December. As I wrote last week in the @torontostar.bsky.social , they like to call cyclists names like woke or whatever but nobody is tougher.

Shawn Micallef: Think there’s a ‘war on the car’? Here’s the truth behind the rhetoric in Toronto
The fight over cycling lanes and other safer-street infrastructure in our city is marred by obfuscation, scapegoating and rhetoric.

Toronto's best hope is that they give the removal work to Metrolinx. It will take 12 years to plan and design, and the cost will grow to $200 million per km and might never be finished.
A sad day for cyclists in Toronto, Ottawa, and across Ontario. Third Reading of Doug Ford's anti bike lane Bill 212 passed 66 to 27. We must keep fighting including organizing to #VoteFordOut when the election comes! #shame #BikeTO #ottbike #TOpoli #ONpoli #VisionZero

If they’re going to accuse road safety folk of waging a war on the car, let’s actually talk about who’s operating in good faith & who isn’t. And some history.

If they accuse cyclists and pedestrians of waging war, a war they should get.

My column this wknd.

@maritstilesndp.bsky.social Do you have a statement on the PC’s legislation that will have them removing bike lanes in the City of Toronto?
