The exhibit I co-curated at The Billy Ireland, Motion Lines: How Cartoonsts draw Movement, closed this past weekend... but if you missed it there's now this great online version--one of the very few they've done this for!

I love TCAF and am sending $ (you should too!) BUT Cartoon Crossroads Columbus shares the sentiment and it is free too!!! ♥️
Unlike other large comic arts festivals in North America, TCAF has remained completely free to the public since 2003.

You can help keep TCAF free for all! Donate $10 at www.torontocomics.com and you'll be supporting a critical space for emerging comics talent and our city's creative community.

Of course we had to follow Brumsic Brandon Jr. with his incredible daughter, Barbara Brandon-Croft.
She is the first black woman to achieve mainstream global syndication.

You can read her ongoing work on her instagram, and pick up her collected strips from Drawn and Quarterly!!!

The first time I heard the "why aren't Democrats filing lawsuits?" complaint, one of the top items on the CNN website, above the fold, was "State AGs file lawsuit against funding freeze." People are so invested in the idea that Democrats won't do anything that they don't even check.

A really wonderful article by @sams-studios-llc.bsky.social! Given the prevalence of neurodiverse folks in comics, this essay about sensory friendly decentralized events made us very happy to read.

Opera cartoons are some of my faves!
Not a Tom & Jerry fan, especially the later Chuck Jones ones, but it's on right now.

This one is Tom as an opera singer and Jerry annoyed at the singing. It's a rehash of Jones' classic Bugs Bunny from 1949, "Long-haired Hare." Right down to using "Figaro."

Now I wanna see the Bugs!
