Kids have better things to do with their time and energy. We already know they don't use the libraries where books are banned. Why would they go leave comments on some stupid cartoon made by book banners?

We're 5 years in, folks. We gotta stop expecting kids to solve these problems.
What the hell is this bullshit?

I hope this backfires. I hope kids use their unfiltered comments to point out the absurdity.

C'mon kids! You can do it! Make the book banners feel shame.

I don't know when it became common practice for folks to "share" information originally written by someone else and not give them a lick of credit for it. Especially when the original writer gets untold amounts of personal abuse and pain for it.

Credit.
People.

Share, add, w/e. CREDIT YR SOURCE.

**Libraries & Mental Health Survey**

I'm updating my research and subsequent talks related to mental health in the library. I'd love insight from library workers of all backgrounds + experiences, and I've got a handy survey. Please take & share widely. Thank you!

Tons and tons of updates on this doc now. Whole new tab recording state library job cuts/service cuts.

This is an open access, editable doc. Just include your updates in a color other than black or blue.
If you aren't already, or forgot, remember to add stories to Kelly's IMLS impact tracker. There's a lot in there already but we need a mountain of evidence!
I'd like personal experiences, anecdote, letters, etc., added to this document that includes the high level IMLS timeline. Please add your own here with anything you can share and/or pass along to those who have something to add.

Librarians aren't always opposing bills, but if a bill exists it should actually work well for parents, SBs, students and academia. Refusing to listen when a bill is cumbersome, unworkable, and unconstitutional helps absolutely no one. Spouting political rhetoric doesn't improve it. #txlege

SB13 will pass mostly as is. Changes made in conference committee yesterday will significantly slow down the book purchasing process for our kids. One change is that if a book is challenged, no matter how spurious, it will have to be removed from the shelf. We see real problems ahead. #txlege

"Do your own research" as a policy fits perfectly within the right's framework, as all of the "information" that aligns with anti-science rhetoric is free and actual factual information lies behind paywalls.

None new! Just a nice, convenient message to further perpetuate mis/dis info.
