I miss my 50-year streak of not knowing who the Secretary of Health is or anything about them.

New in PN: Alert the media — the WH is lying about Trump's health

"Something's clearly up & the official explanations don’t make sense. That’s not a shock given that Trump is a liar surrounded by toadies who surrendered their shame long ago. But it’s past time for reporters to ask some questions."
Alert the media: The White House is lying about Trump's health
Their explanations are absurd and it's time to start asking questions.

There is no plausible argument that cutting wastewater surveillance increases efficiency or saves money. It gives a comprehensive view of a region for a fraction of the cost of individual tests. Tests that lots of people can't or won't get! This is a huge self-inflicted wound.

Look, for over a year, one brave Cassandra was warning you that massive tariffs were coming and that they’d wreak havoc on the economy. But no one listened to Donald Trump.

The @sfchronicle.com’s Joe Garofoli arrived at Bluesky on the day of one of his best columns I’ve read.

Methodically dismantling the bizarre claim that diversity caused the L.A. fires.

Follow my friend @joegarofoli.bsky.social & make him feel welcome!

We don’t yet know what caused the L.A. fires. But we do know it wasn’t DEI initiatives
Conservatives’ argument, to the extent they have one, appears to be that the Los Angeles Fire Department chief has warped priorities.

Here's the reality about the #LAFires this week: this isn't the first time ANY of these places have burned. Not even close. In 2018, we mapped CA fire history to look at fire frequency across SoCal. Santa Monica Mtns area burns more than anywhere else -- up to once per decade in a given spot. 🧵

Sick of people calling everything in crypto a Ponzi scheme.
Some crypto projects are pump and dump schemes, while others are pyramid schemes.
Others are just standard issue fraud. Others are just middlemen skimming off the top.
Stop glossing over the diversity in the industry.

Checked the @sfchronicle.com archive and there HAS been a tornado in San Francisco before!

Dec. 19, 1891. Collapsed a home on corner of Filbert and Gough Sts and killed Owen McDonell, a tannery laborer working inside.

Seems very isolated. Touched down for only a few minutes and did minimal damage.

One more thing! An excellent point from my brother, Roger Sagal.

I wondered why after Trump's long recital of Viktor Orban's praise, Harris didn't immediately come back with, "He's a dictator, just like you want to be..."

Roger pointed out Hungary is in NATO and she is the Vice Presdient.
